Waterfront Vacation Rental in Virginia's Hidden Treasure

 

Located 2.5 hours from Washington, D.C. and 1.5 hours from Richmond, VA, Callao is a peaceful rural and waterfront community. The Pirate's Cove property just down the road from "downtown" Callao is a water-lover's paradise featuring gorgeous views and access to activities galore whether you take advantage of some of the on-site equipment or bring your own. Pirate’s Cove is a water front escape situated on 5 private acres, making it an ideal spot for a private retreat or fun family getaway.

 

 

Relaxation

Enjoy your morning coffee while watching local fishermen head down the Yeocomico River on their way to work against the backdrop of the rising sun. 

Take a nap, read a book or maybe even practice some yoga in the four seasons room.

Sit a spell on the dock as you treat your eyes and ears to the sights and sounds of nature, including majestic bald eagles that nest nearby.

Bask by the glow of the fire pit, favorite drink in hand, as the setting sun gives way to a starry sky free of light pollution. 

Pirate's Cove doesn't even have WiFi so if you're looking for a true unplugged and relaxing experience and can't get it here, you're doing it wrong!

 

Water Activities

Your stay at Pirate's Cove includes unrestricted access to on-site dock facilities, a private boat ramp, canoes, row boats, and crab pots, making it the perfect destination for anyone who is enthusiastic about the water. 

The property's location on the Yeocomico River gives you options for your day on the water. It is accessible via canoe, paddle board or other small water craft to explore many nearby creeks, as well as close enough to the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay to take larger boats to open water.  

If you want to enjoy the water from dry land, help yourself to use of the crab pots or bring your fishing gear. 

 

Gathering Space

Assemble the crew! Currently, the house sleeps six people between two bedrooms. If you desire additional space, we have another property just two doors down that may fit your needs or you are welcome to bring a tent or camper.

The open concept living room with doors going to the spacious outdoor entertaining space and four-seasons room give you and yours plenty of room to feast and socialize. 

For larger events/weddings, we will allow on a case-by-case basis. 

Discover

As the Northern Neck (or NNK) tourism board suggests, this is one of the few Mid Atlantic tourism regions where you can still discover the road less traveled. This is part of the charm that captivated us so many years ago.

In the heart of our sleepy town of Callao you can shop local crafts and second-hand treasures, as well as locally caught seafood and shellfish and produce grown on the surrounding farms. It doesn't get much more fresh!
